Manchester City Loses Important Players When They Travel to Real Madrid Headquarters, Injury

 Manchester City is not feeling well ahead of facing Real Madrid in the semifinals of the 2022-23 Champions League.

City's mainstay midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, is in a worrying condition so he has the potential to miss the first leg of the top four round of Europe's most elite club competition.

The club nicknamed The Citizens will meet Real Madrid in the race for a ticket to the 2022-23 Champions League final.

A week later, it was the turn of Pep Guardiola's troops to host the defending champions at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester.

Ahead of the trip to the Spanish capital, Man City's strength was not in the best condition because De Bruyne was injured.

Guardiola could not say when the Belgium international would recover.

In fact, The Citizens really need the contribution of the 31-year-old attacking midfielder.

Moreover, this former Wolfsburg player appeared impressive when Man City defeated their closest rivals in the hunt for the Premier League title, Arsenal.

De Bruyne scored two goals in Man City's 4-1 win over the Gunners on 27 April 2023.

He also made one assist for The Citizens' second goal scored by John Stones.

However, when Man City faced Fulham in the latest match, Sunday (30/4), De Bruyne was absent due to injury.

He had been uncomfortable since the game against Arsenal so he was replaced by Julian Alvarez with 10 minutes remaining in the match.

Luckily, Man City managed to win 2-1 which made them oust Arsenal from the top of the 2022-23 Premier League standings.

"(De Bruyne) doesn't feel well," Pep Guardiola told Sky Sports about the reason the player was absent against Fulham.

"He has an injury and can't go (away to Fulham headquarters). I don't know how long (he will be back)."

This is of course an alarm signal for Man City.

Because the Premier League giants need the best strength to be able to provide maximum resistance against Real Madrid.

However, Real Madrid was not in ideal conditions either.

For three money, Carlo Ancelotti's troops are also facing injury problems because David Alaba and Luka Modric are in the recovery process so it is not certain whether they are available.

So, the possibility of De Bruyne returning will continue to be monitored this week.

Thus, the player who has scored seven goals and 18 assists throughout the 2022-23 season has the potential to miss the two matches this week against West Ham United (3/5) and Leeds United (6/5) before traveling to Madrid.
